Ideas often come when I'm working at my bench. This one was first intended to be one band of gold with a silver wrap over the top, randomly worked in to place. It was not until I added the gold bar to it that it came to life. When I started to work these pieces I labelled them The Golden Thread as it reminded me of a piece of prose that was about life being a mess, but to recognise how beautiful it is. The gold signifies the beauty of life, the part to try to stay focused on so as not to be distracted by the random mess that you can't control going on around you.

These earrings are made of recycled 9ct gold with beautiful garnet cabochons. They can be made up with any precious metal or cabochon gemstones.
